Geriatric Medicine

A Geriatrician is a medical doctor, typically an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine specialist, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the aging process and the elderly. This doctor delivers the broad spectrum of acute and chronic healthcare services to elderly people often coordinating care provided by other specialists. Besides evaluating and treating illness, they also provide preventive and rehabilitation care services. Care settings include home-care or long-term care settings such as palliative care centers, nursing homes, and residential continuing care facilities.
